Austria
At times as turbulent as during that long period of the Corona pandemic, when hardly anything could be planned with certainty, even in the world of table tennis, it is good to know to have a reliable partner at your side.
DONIC and the Austrian Table Tennis Association have already been associated for one and a half decades – the traditional German company has been textile supplier of the Austrian Table Tennis Association (ÖTTV) since 2006.
After such a long time, both parties do realize how lucky they are to have each other and appreciate their relationship very much. "Goals are difficult to define this year," admitted Matthias Neuwirth, Secretary General of the Austrian Table Tennis Association (ÖTTV) in April this year, "above all, it depends on whether the events actually take place."
Looking ahead to Tokyo 2021, Neuwirth says: "Of course, the first Olympic table tennis medal for Austria would be a dream." In any case, however, the association wants to win medals at the European Championships again, he says.
The Austrian Table Tennis Association also has good prerequisites for this: Sofia Polcanova, Europe's No. 1 in women's singles, and two strong team – Austria's teams are among the top in Europe in both women's and men's singles.
„Already more than 15 years together.”
And what if it does not come to winning titles and medals in the next few months? Then there is no need to worry in Austria, because the association has a partner who supports the teams in both good and bad times.
If you have as much experience in international top sports as DONIC, you have patience. Because then you know from experience: At some point there will certainly be something to celebrate together again.
